Important Information regarding visa for the 3rd or 4th semester students

PSPS has a 4 semester study system and many PSPS students receive a 1 year(12months) period for their stay when they apply for an Alien Registration Card.  If you are going to stay longer than the expiration date for your studies, you need to extend your stay by visiting the Immigration Office in Daegu with the required documents. PSPS has informed you regarding the documents for extension of stay.

According to the regulation, student visa holders must keep their stay in Korea during their full study period. If you stay 4 full semesters in Korea and graduate, there is not a problem. But some students finish their course work in 3 semesters and leave for their home country for their 4th semester. As PSPS students are in this special case, PSPS strongly advises you to keep your period of stay on your Alien Registration Card later than the end of the 4th semester or your graduation date. 

For example, if your expiration date is March 10, 2014 and you will go to your home country for your 4th semester. But you will finish your 4th semester in August 2014. Then you need to extend your period of stay before you leave for your home country.

In this case, you don't need to worry about coming back to Korea for your thesis or graduation ceremony.  Even though you will not come back again, you have to keep your period of stay later than the end of the 4th semester.
