 College of Medicine Professor Kim, Jae Ryong (53, Biochemistry & Molecular Biology, photo) received the Minister's Award from the Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning (MSIP, Minister Choi, Mun Kee). He was awarded for his contributions to the development of the basic research projects and basic science research.
 While serving as the chairperson of the MRC (Medical Research Centers) Council since January 2013, Professor Kim contributed to the promotion of national basic medical science research and the development of the research. From June 2013, he worked on finding various issues and presenting solutions for the promotion of basic research with the launching of the new administration and the Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning as a member of the National Science & Technology Council.
 Professor Kim earned his bachelor's, master's and doctorate's at YU and has been serving as a professor at the YU College of Medicine since 1993. He has been serving as the director of the Aging-associated Vascular Disease Research Center since 2005. In 2005, he received the academic award from the Daegu Medical Association, and in 2008, he was selected by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology for the 'Top 100 National R&D Programs 2007'.
