The National Institute for International Education selects YU as a 'Korean language teaching institute for government invited graduate school scholarship students.

Currently, 179 foreign students from 20 countries are studying Korean at YU.

 YU (President Noh Seok-kyun) was selected as the '2014-2015 Government Invited Graduate School Scholarship Student Korean Language Teaching Institute' from the National Institute for International Education (director Lee Byeong-hyeon).

 This government invited international scholarship student project hosted by the National Institute for International Education under the Ministry of Education aims at inviting the best talents around the world by the government to create a Korea-friendly network and foster global talents. Accordingly, 815 graduate school students from 160 countries around the world will be selected for scholarships to study in Korea during 2014 and 2015.

 YU was consigned Korean language education to 70 of these students. Thus, the YU Korean Language Education Center will provide a total 1,000 hours of education such as Korean language training and cultural experience activities for one year from September of this year to August of next. The second-year project will begin from September of next year and end in August, 2016. Students who complete the education will have TOPIK qualifications of grade 3 or higher and enroll in Korean graduate schools in master's and PhD courses.

 YU Korean Language Education Center director Lee Jae-hoon said, "We are planning to prepare various programs to not only teach Korean to the excellent talents from abroad, but also so that they can have a good impression of Korea."

 Meanwhile, the YU Korean Language Education Center that was established in 2002 was selected as the Korean language and basic educational program institute for the Saudi Arabia King Abdullah scholarship student of Saudi Arabia from 2012. Since 2012, it has been further recognized for its outstanding Korean language education program by attracting students receiving the CSN tuition program of Sweden.

 The YU Korean Language Education Center, which runs on a quarterly system, is currently educating 179 students from 20 countries including Sweden, Ireland, Turkmenistan, Saudi Arabia, Libya, France, England, USA and Brazil in the first quarter of 2014 and are teaching international students Korean language and culture.
