Department of Chemical Engineering Lee Tae-jin (60) was elected as co-president of the National Assembly Climate Change Forum.

 At the general assembly of the National Assembly Climate Change Forum held at the National Assembly Hall on the 26th of last month, Professor Lee Tae-jin was elected as a co-president. The co-presidents of the National Assembly Climate Change Forum include National Assemblymen Kim Sung-gon and Jin Young, as well as Citizens' Movement for Environmental Justice Advisor Kim Il-jun, and GS Energy CEO Na Wan-bae, and is joined by over 400 members from the National Assembly, central government, local governments, corporations, civic organizations, academic circles and the media.

 The National Assembly Climate Change Forum was established by over 200 experts from the government, National Assembly, industry, civic organizations, academic circles and the press in 2007 with the goal of pan-national discussions, practice, policies, legislation and governance to respond to climate changes. It has carried out various projects related to climate change policies such as legislation debates, policy seminars, field research, practice campaigns, green climate awards, and college student climate change academies.

 Professor Lee Tae-jin earned his PhD at the Korean Advanced Institute of Science Technology (KAIST) and has been serving as a professor at YU since March 1985. He is currently the director of the IT and Energy Material Process Creative Chemist Fostering Project, which is a specialized project group of YU, and outside of YU, he has been serving as the chairperson of the Korea Energy and Climate Change Society from this year.
