Recognized for their excellent research capacities, professors of YU wree listed in the 'Marquis Who's Who in the World’, one of the top three biographical dictionaries in the world. 

 Professor Kang Seok-bok (55, Department of Statistics) will be registered for the third consecutive year in the 'Marquis Who's Who in the World’. 'Marquis Who's Who in the World’, which is published in the United States, selects and lists 60,000 people after rigid reviews among people who made globally excellent achievements in fields of science, engineering, art and culture. Professor Kang was listed in 2014 and 2015 and will also be listed in 2016. In addition, Professor Kang is also scheduled to be listed in the 2016-2017 'Marquis Who's Who in Science and Engineering', which is published biannually for engineers.

 Professor Kang was also listed consecutively in the 2014 and 2015 editions of the '2000 Outstanding Intellectuals of the 21st Century' published by the Cambridge International Biography Center (IBC) of England, while also being selected in the 'Leading Professionals of the World’, ‘Top 100 Educators’, and ‘The Cambridge Certificate for Outstanding Professional Achievement’, thus being internationally recognized for his educational and research achievements. In January, he was also selected as an outstanding evaluator for the National Research Foundation basic research projects in 2014. 

 Professor Kang is currently serving as a professor at the YU Department of Statsitics and is also the director of the Student Affairs Office. He served as the YU dormitory director, social education center director, and basic education college dean. Outside of the school, he served as a director of the Korea Statistical Society, chief thesis editor of the Korea Statistical Society, and chairman of the Journal of the Korean Data & Information Science Society editing committee.

 Professor Kim Seung-jin (62, Department of Textile Engineering and Technology) was also listed in the 2015 edition of the 'Marquis Who's Who in the World 2015’ . 

 Professor Kim Seung-jin earned his PhD in engineering at Seoul National University and has been serving as a professor at YU from March 1994. Professor Kim authored a total of 18 academic books including three foreign books that introduce technologies related to weaving and threads, and also published 91 reports and 488 research results in domestic and foreign academic conferences. He has been actively conducting research such as publishing 175 theses in both domestic and foreign academic journals.
