100% passing again following the 78th examinations
First in the region to receive '6 consecutive years of certification by the KIMEE 'medical education accreditation'

YU (President Noh Seok-kyun) achieved the feat of '100% passing' of those who applied to the 80th state medical examination in 2016.
After all applicants passed in the 79th examinations, they achieved this record again, showing the excellence of the YU College of Medicine. The average national passing rate in Korea for this examination was 93.5%.
According to an announcement made by the National Health Personnel Licensing Examination Board on the 20th, all 83 applicants comprised of 41 in the Graduate School of Medicine and 42 from the College of Medicine (including 2 graduates) passed the performance test held from September to November and the written test held on the 7th and 8th of last month passed the examination. Nationwide, 3,323 people applied for the state examination for becoming doctors, and 3,106 passed.
YU has displayed high passing rates that exceeds the national average every year. It also had a 100% passing rate where all 74 applicants passed in the 78th examination (average passing rate of 93.8%) and showed 97.6% passing rate in the 79th examinations (average passing rate of 94.6%).
Graduate School of Medicine Dean and College of Medicine Dean Kim Yong-woon said, "This is the result of reorganizing the curriculum to fit the trends of performance-based medicine education, operating the curriculum in a substantial manner, and creating an academic atmosphere." He added, "YU will continue to strive to foster doctors with the capacities desired by society and doctors with warm human character."
In 2014, the YU College of Medicine became the first in the area to receive '6 years straight certification' in the 'medical education accreditation' by the Korean Institute of Medical Education and Evaluation (KIMEE). KIMEE evaluates Korean medical education institutes in six fields of college operation system, basic medical education course, students, faculty, facilities and equipment, and post-graduation education, and provides accreditation for four to six years.
