 YU School of Materials Science and Engineering Professor Ryu Jung-ho (46) won the ‘30th Outstanding Science Technology Thesis Award’ from the Korean Federation of Science and Technology (KFST).

 

 Professor Ryu won the award in the engineering sector at the 2020 Korea Science and Technology Annual Meeting held in March for the thesis titled ‘Linear and Nonlinear Dielectric Ceramics for High-Power Energy Storage Capacitor Applications’. 

 

 The ‘Outstanding Science Technology Thesis Award’ is awarded by the KFST to science technologists that published outstanding papers through created research activities  This is the most prestigious award in Korea that began in 1991 by the KFST with the goal of heightening passion and motivation for research, improving the research atmosphere, and enhancing and advancing science technology levels. It is selected by receiving recommendations on outstanding papers from academic organizations and societies related to science technology in Korea. 

 

 Professor Ryu has been highly active in his research publishing about 230 studies in international journals in the ceramic materials and application elements sector, while also registering about 100 domestic/international patents. He has also received many awards including the Minister of Science, ICT and Future Planning Award, Young Ceramist Award by the American Ceramic Society, and outstanding paper award by the Korean Institute of Electrical and Electronic Material Engineers.
